Planning COVID-19 Communications

As we care deeply about the safety and well-being of our community, customers, collaborators, it’s vitally important we navigate the challenges COVID-19 presents in a way that is clear and impactful for everyone. While working to lift our communities, it’s also completely natural to worry about the pandemic’s impacts on our personal business and brand as well. We can use intentional communication to support the well-being of our stakeholders, the people who have always supported us, and limit the effects on our business and brand during this period of uncertainty. 

How we communicate and connect with those we serve during this time requires intention, empathy, and a lot of grace. Our purpose must be to provide stakeholders with the facts they need to limit uncertainty from us while connecting with them on the most human level. If there has ever been a time to create stronger, long-lasting bonds, the time is now.

You may have already communicated the necessary information with stakeholders via email and social media. This situation is continuously evolving, and in the coming days and weeks, more communication will be needed. Here are ten steps for communicating confidently and building trust with your audience during this uncertain time.
